we use a gas leaf blower when drilling to blow dust away from the bit, it makes it easier to see how deep you are drilling

  • poolandspamoose:

that is a great tip. thanks :o )

  • MrOlafdotcom:

you don’t even have to hold the trigger in, just let it idle there should be more than enough force to blow the dust away.

we mark the bit with duct tip… making a “flap” this was u know how far to drill and the flap blows the dust…. works ok

  • heckofapoolguy:

“duct tape” man i cant type for shit

Freeform pools are the easiest to install covers on , and why waste time w/ that grid . fill 8- 5 gallon buckets w/ pool water , pull cover over pool ,support w/ buckets (onstraps only) , start drilling ,(and u can use a stop on bit to set depth) remove dust w/ foot install grommet , attach strap to grommet. When finished w/ all drilling use bucket water to clean dust off deck . On average i install 150 covers a year for the last 8 years . Avg install time w/ avg of 50 grommets is 1.25 hrs :)
